Nico Rosberg triumphed for a third successive time at Monaco on Sunday, after Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton became an innocent victim of a poor strategy call late in the race. Hamilton was cruising to his fourth win of the season until a collision between Max Verstappen and Romain Grosjean and the subsequent safety car changed the equation at the front of the field. The British driver pitted under the safety car and came out behind teammate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel - who both stayed out - and failed to overtake either of them when the safety car came into the pits with eighth laps to go. Hamilton eventually crossed the line in third place and saw his championship lead reduced to half.
