As mentioned earlier, McLaren and Williams both dominated two decades in Formula 1 history. Williams is another UK based company that was formed in 1977.
Williams won their first Championship in 1980. They have won a total of 9 Championships so far.
Alan Jones was the first driver to win the Drivers' Championship with Williams in 1980. Other notable drivers who were part of the English team were Nelson Piquet, Alain Prost and, Jaques Villeneuve.
From 1983-1987, they had partnered up with Honda. From 1989-1997, Renault took over Honda as the new engine partners.
This season, Mercedes will be providing them with the engines. Lance Stroll will be one of the drivers with Williams this season and, Sergey Sirotkin will be replacing the retired Felipe Massa.
