Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel said the FIA’s decision to declare the floor of his team’s car illegal, will not be reflected in their results. After complaints from rival teams, the FIA has reassessed the RB8’s floor and declared the ‘holes’ in it are against the regulations. The complaints came just ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix as rival teams questioned if the hole, found in the RB8’s floor in front of the rear wheel, meets the FIA standards.
According to Vettel, this will not have a negative impact on the team. He said to be more worried about the FIA’s inconstancy as the organization had actually approved the floor at the start of the season.
Vettel: “I do not care. I do not believe it has a big impact on what we do on the circuit. I think it is more important to get the tire pressures right. It is a shame it goes one way and the other, one way and the other. I think it is really difficult to understand what is going on. But it is as it is now.”
