Who is Riccardo Adami?

Riccardo Adami, born in 1973 in Italy, graduated from the University of Brescia in 2001. He had always wanted to enter the world of motorsports, and Minardi offered him a role in 2002. Before Red Bull bought 100% stakes in the team, Adami had already moved up the hierarchy with his dedication and passion.

In 2005, he was promoted to race engineer, and he ended up working with high-profile names such as Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo. However, in 2015, his prolonged association with Red Bull came to an end. He switched to Ferrari and found a familiar face in Sebastian Vettel.

After the four-time world champion left for Aston Martin, Riccardo paired up with Carlos Sainz. In his four years of association with Sainz, the duo won a few races and was fairly successful. However, with Sainz leaving for Williams, Riccardo Adami will have to manage a new driver again in 2025.

Lewis Hamilton dropped a stunning career update in February 2024 as he confirmed his decision to join Ferrari. After 11 years with Mercedes, he called it quits on his historic time with the team to embark on an unknown adventure with the Italian-based team.

However, Hamilton couldn't bring his race engineer Peter Bonnington to Ferrari as the latter was bound by a contract with Mercedes. Hence, the seven-time world champion will have to work with a new race engineer with Ferrari in the 2025 season.

As per media reports, Riccardo Adami is set to partner with Lewis Hamilton. Adami has been with the Maranello-based team for nearly a decade and has notable experience working in motorsports. However, managing Hamilton will be a different challenge for both Ferrari and Adami.

The seven-time world champion is coming from a team with whom he achieved massive success. He apparently had a certain level of respect, say, with the team. However, it is uncertain if he will be treated the same way as Ferrari.
