BAN vs SA Dream11 Prediction: 3 players you can pick as captain or vice-captain for today’s Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match – October 12, 2024

Laura Wolvaardt is the highest run-scorer so far in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024.

Bangladesh and South Africa meet in the 16th match of the ICC Women's T20I World Cup 2024 on Saturday, October 12, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This is the final group stage match for both sides, with Bangladesh unlikely to make it to the semi-finals while South Africa look to seal their place.

The official hosts Bangladesh started this tournament well with a win over Scotland and a pretty solid effort against England but the West Indies made light work of them in their last outing. The side will want to deliver a spirited performance in this final fixture.

Meanwhile, Laura Wolvaardt's South Africa are on the verge of qualifying for the semi-finals, with a win in this match all but confirming their place. They come into this game on the back of a dominant 80-run win over Scotland.

Let's now look at the top three Dream11 captaincy picks for this match.

#3 Ritu Moni (ALL) (BAN)

Bangladesh all-rounder Ritu Moni should definitely be considered for Dream11 captaincy in this match. The seam-bowling all-rounder has done very well with the ball in this tournament, picking up two wickets apiece against Scotland and England while also contributing a few useful runs in Bangladesh's last match against West Indies.

Her medium pace should work on a Dubai surface that has assisted seamers more than in Sharjah. Ritu Moni's multiple routes to points will have more effect against a stronger opposition like South Africa as her captain will be forced to turn to her with the ball. It's also very likely that she gets an opportunity to bat.

Despite it being very likely she ends up on the losing side, Ritu Moni could score some Dream11 points before that happens.

#2 Laura Wolvaardt (BAT) (SA)

Laura Wolvaardt is the outright top run-scorer in this T20 World Cup, and no one seems likely to be able to match her run-scoring output in this tournament. Embodying consistency, Wolvaardt has notched up 141 runs in three matches, averaging 70.50, and scoring at a strike rate of 116.52.

She has really enjoyed batting in Dubai and even scored an unbeaten 59 against the West Indies in the evening game at Dubai earlier in the tournament. Given that she's gone up against the quality bowling lineups of England and the West Indies and still scored plenty of runs, Wolvaardt will back herself to deliver against another strong bowling unit.

Wolvaardt has delivered Dream11 hauls in every game thus far and looks likely to do so here as well.

#1 Marizanne Kapp (ALL) (SA)

Marizanne Kapp's status as one of the best all-rounders in the world can be explained simply by her POTM-winning performance with the bat against Scotland. After starring with the ball in the first two matches, Kapp scored a quick-fire 43 off only 24 balls against Scotland to power the Proteas to a match-winning total of 166/5.

Her services with the ball weren't even required by skipper Laura Wolvaardt, who opted to provide some bowling time to the other part-timers on the side.

Kapp has shown her best with both bat and ball at some point in this tournament, and as South Africa reaches the cusp of making it to the playoffs, she's more than likely to put in a complete all-round performance. She's easily the best Dream11 captaincy pick in this fixture and to go against her is a very risky proposition.
