The Pretoria Capitals (PC) and the Durban Super Giants (DSG) clash in the fifth match of SA20 2025 on Sunday, January 12, at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
The two teams face off less than 48 hours after playing out one of the most memorable encounters in the history of the SA20. Durban set the ball rolling at Kingsmead on Friday, with Kane Williamson's half-century the glue to their innings as powerful cameos from Mulder, Breetzke, and Bryce Parsons powered them to 209.
However, Will Jacks and Rahmanullah Gurbaz's 150+ opening stand almost took the game away from DSG before they pulled off a miraculous comeback to emerge victorious.
The Capitals will be keen to hit back against DSG on their home turf, which should also be a batting paradise.
Let's look at three players who would be ideal Dream11 captaincy options in this fixture.
#3 Noor Ahmad (BOWL) (DSG)
While SuperSport Park in Centurion hasn't been the most favorable venue for spinners, Noor Ahmad's terrific record against the Pretoria Capitals, and the SA20 in general, makes him an exception, and a solid Dream11 captaincy option at that.
The left-arm mystery spinner was instrumental in DSG's unbelievable comeback against the Capitals as he picked up the big wickets of the in-form Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Will Jacks to stop the Capitals' momentum right in its tracks. His record in the SA20 is exceptional - 14 wickets in 7 matches with an economy of 6.22 and a bowling average of 12.1.
He's a must-have in your teams and a powerful captaincy pick.
#2 Quinton de Kock (WK) (DSG)
Since last season, the Durban Super Giants have inexplicably opted to use Quinton de Kock outside his preferred position as an opening batter, which has dented his appeal in Fantasy cricket. He is now slotting at No. 4 for DSG, after Kane Williamson, although he is still the one donning the wicket-keeping gloves.
However, de Kock's terrific record at Centurion suggests that this might be the right match to back him with the captain or the vice-captain's armband on Dream11. de Kock boasts of terrific numbers at this venue across formats, with an average of 58.7 and a strike rate of 185.3 in T20s.
While his batting position is a slight concern, a couple of early wickets, which the Capitals' bowlers can pick up, could see de Kock in the crease early enough to make an impact. That, in addition, to his prowess behind the stumps, increases his points ceiling to a large extent, making him a solid captaincy pick.
#1 Will Jacks (BAT) (PC)
Who else but Will Jacks as the best Dream11 captaincy option? The English all-rounder showed his class and consistency with a dominant 35-ball 64 against DSG in the reverse fixture, also putting on a magnificent opening 154-run opening stand with Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Like de Kock, Jacks also loves batting at the SuperSport Park, scoring a whopping 311 runs in six innings at an average of 51.8 and a mind-boggling strike rate of 208.7! He has also picked up two wickets at a terrific economy rate of 5.93. He's an absolute no-brainer for Dream11 captaincy in this fixture.
