Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) take on MI Cape Town (MICT) in the first match of SA20 2025 on Thursday, January 9, at St. George's Park in Gqeberha.

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape have dominated the SA20 so far, winning both the editions of the league. Their bowling unit has played a major role in their success, and they'll look to start this edition of the SA20 in the same vein.

MICT, meanwhile, have significantly strengthened their squad with major signings at the player auction, aiming to improve on their performance in the league after recording back-to-back bottom-place finishes in the first two seasons. Rashid Khan continues to captain the team, but will find plenty of support in the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Rassie van der Dussen, and Reeza Hendricks.

This match is the perfect opener to what should be another exciting edition of the SA20 and should be thoroughly entertaining. On that note, let's look at a few under-appreciated Dream11 differentials who could make the difference for their backers.

#3 Zak Crawley (BAT) (SEC)

England's Test opener Zak Crawley isn't the first name you'd associate with a T20 opener, but the highly rated batter is set to open the batting for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape this season. His more traditional game and relatively lower profile to the others in the squad have resulted in him having a single-digit ownership on Dream11.

However, SEC's recruitment has been top-notch right from the start of the SA20 and a technically sound batter who builds his innings first before taking off is the right profile for an opener at St. George's Park. A very experienced batter who's a great player of pace, he's perfectly suited to batting in South African conditions.

An opening batter always has a very high points ceiling and while a risky option, Crawley could reward Dream11 owners throughout this tournament.

#2 Richard Gleeson (BOWL) (SEC)

Another example of smart recruitment from the Sunrisers Eastern Cape was the acquisition of Richard Gleeson for a whopping R 2.3 million after a fierce bidding war with last season's runners-up Durban Super Giants (DSG). The experienced England pacer could be a valuable asset for this SEC side that has one of the best pace bowling units in the league.

The 37-year-old Gleeson has plied his trade in T20 leagues across the world and impressed in his short stint with DSG in the SA20 last season, picking up five wickets in three matches. A bowler capable of operating with the new ball and at the death, he has plenty of opportunities to pick up wickets.

This immensely talented and skilful pacer could be a valuable Dream11 differential to add to your teams.

#1 Corbin Bosch (ALL) (MICT)

Corbin Bosch (No. 37) celebrates his maiden Test wicket in the 1st Test against Pakistan.
Corbin Bosch (No. 37) celebrates his maiden Test wicket in the 1st Test against Pakistan.

Proteas all-rounder Corbin Bosch made his national debut in both ODI and Test cricket in the last three weeks, creating a positive impact in both games with both the bat and the ball. It was his terrific 81* and four-wicket haul in the first innings of the first Test against Pakistan that helped South Africa record a thrilling and historic win, one that helped them qualify for the WTC Final for the first time.

MI Cape Town roped in the 30-year-old as their Wildcard player, significantly bolstering their squad. But despite his recent achievements in international cricket and his high Dream11 point potential, his ownership remains in single digits.

A part of the Pretoria Capitals in the first two editions of the SA20, Bosch hasn't had the best of times in this league so far. However, being in good form and in a new franchise that should utilize him in the right role, this pace bowling all-rounder could rack up the Dream11 points this season.
