#9 Casemiro
In ninth place, is Real Madrid defensive-midfielder Casemiro. Many would describe Casemiro as one of the most unsung defensive midfielders in the game. The Brazilian’s style involves holding up the ball in the middle of the park. This aids Real Madrid’s back four, ensuring that attack-minded players can move further up the pitch.
Casemiro has long been overshadowed by his Real Madrid teammates. He made a transfer from Porto to only to be placed in the Los Blancos reserves. Although he may not be as technical as some of his teammates, Casemiro covers a great deal of ground on the pitch.
Casemiro has won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid and has won the FIFA Club World Cup on two occasions. He has scored 15 goals and created 12 in his 168 appearances for Real Madrid.
