#3 Chelsea shifting to 3-4-3 after going 3-0 down at Arsenal
It was 10 minutes into the second half at the Emirates when Marcos Alonso replaced Cesc Fabregas and the visitors (trailing their rivals 3-0), in an attempt to stem the bleeding, switched to a back three. In what would go on to become one of the greatest ever tactical shifts in the history of the Premier League, Chelsea would go on to not concede another goal for more than 10 hours of football, winning 13 games on the spin.
This proved to be the turning point in Chelsea’s season. In fact, the system was so successful that as many as 17 teams in the league adopted a back three at some point of the season thanks to Conte’s unparalleled success in his first season.
