#4 Kevin De Bruyne

A.F.C. Bournemouth v Manchester City - Premier League
A.F.C. Bournemouth v Manchester City - Premier LeagueIt has been well documented that a big part of Manchester City’s success this season has been down to Kevin De Bruyne’s supernatural performances.

The Belgian has recorded the second highest amount of key passes per-game, with a total of 3.3 - just 0.2 behind Premier League leader Mesut Özil.

Although he is an orthodox number 10, Pep Guardiola has followed Belgium coach Roberto Martinez’s tactics in playing De Bruyne slightly deeper in more of a number 8 role, with the view of getting him on the ball earlier and threading passes to carve open defences.

You could pick out a number of different De Bruyne passes and give justifiable claims to them that they deserve Pass of the Season because they have simply been at a level that is seldom seen in such a consistent manner.

Man City have an incredible strength in depth throughout their squad, but they do not nearly play as convincingly without the Belgian’s influence on the game.
