#6 Diego Simeone – Atletico Madrid – £655,000-a-month
He’s beaten eternal powerhouses in Real Madrid and Barcelona to the La Liga title and guiding his team to the finals of the UEFA Champions League twice in the last three years. It’s a surprise to see the Argentine Diego Simeone on the bottom half of this list.
Simeone though might not stay at the Madrid club for a lot longer and has a standing offer from Italian giants, Inter Milan, his former club, to become their manager. Should he go back to the club that made him famous, Simeone could earn a lot more money and rise on this list.
And given he has age on his side, he’s capable of earning a lot more than a host of names on this list.
