#3 Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) - £300,000 per week
The first member of the £300,000 per week club in the Premier League is England star Raheem Sterling. The forward enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career so far in 2019-20, scoring 20 goals in the league. Moreover, he had more goals across all competitions than anyone else among all Premier League players.
The 25-year-old's numbers are enough to justify his high wages and he could easily become the first £400,000 per week footballer in the Premier League if he continues to progress at the rate that he is. Sterling is now on 86 Premier League goals so far in his career, and his hunger for goals keeps increasing every season - which is a very healthy sign for City and the England national team alike.
#2 Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City) - £320,833 per week
The second highest earner in the Premier League is probably it's finest player at this moment. Kevin de Bruyne is a footballing superstar in every sense of the word. The Belgian scored 13 goals and provided 20 assists in the league this season, tying the assists record in the process.
The best part of his game is actually away from the outrageous numbers he puts up. His ability to control the tempo of the game, break defensive lines with sumptous passes and willingness to track back and help out defensively make him the complete footballer he is. There have been talks of Manchester City awarding him an even bigger contract as recognition of the incredible level of football he has been playing for a long time now. Most would agree that it'd be well deserved.
#1 David de Gea (Manchester United) - £375,000 per week
Finishing this list at the number one spot as the highest paid player in the Premier League is Manchester United's Spanish goalkeeper - David de Gea.
In the form of his life and having narrowly missed out on a transfer to Real Madrid a couple of seasons back, Manchester United deemed it appropriate to offer De Gea the largest wage among all players in the league, amounting to a mammoth £375,000 a week. At that time, it wasn't seen as a bad decision at all as de Gea was arguably the best shot-stopper in all of Europe.
Unfortunately, he has been struggling of late and is at an all-time low in terms of confidence. The lack of confidence has led to him making quite a few mistakes leading to goals. There is popular belief around Old Trafford that De Gea's time as the club's number one might be up, and it is time to pass the baton to youngster Dean Henderson.
