It has been just over a year since Manchester United signed Indy Boonen, the talented midfielder from Genk in Belgium. The 17-year-old has the ability to play all across midfield. After having been used mainly as an attacking midfielder last season, this term, he has on occasion, played a deeper role to great effect.

Boonen shared a great understanding with Marcus Rashford when the latter played for the academy last season. This time, he has been able to form a telepathic on-field relationship with Angel Gomes.

In the nine games this term, Boonen has scored three goals and has three assists to his name. The 17-year-old's experience gained at the 2016 Under-17 European Championship with Belgium seems to have helped him grow into a more versatile player this season.
