#3 Southampton 4-0 Arsenal (Premier League 26/12/2015)
It seems like Arsenal did not learn anything from their 5-1 defeat to Liverpool a year ago as they again they had a chance to go at the top of the table had they beaten the Saints at Saint Mary. But again Arsenal being Arsenal they did not disappoint and they again badly bottled the chance to go on top of the table.
Southampton took the lead through Cuco Martina superb long-range half volley. Shane Long added the second from close range before Jose Fonte headed home a third from a corner kick. Shane Long then again added the fourth by scoring through Peter Cech's legs.
The Gunners had a chance to go on top of the table and they could have definitely challenged for the title. Also, the timing would have been perfect as all their rivals Chelsea and both Manchester clubs were struggling, Liverpool were no threat to the title and the only genuine contenders that season were Liechester City and Tottenham.
Had Arsenal won that game we might not have seen Liechester City fairytale victory to the title. But in Arsene, we trust but the truth is that this was Arsenal biggest chance of winning the title since 2004 and what infuriates the fans is that they bottled it and they bottled not against any top but with all due respect they bottled it to an average Southampton.
