#2 Tottenham 5-1 Arsenal (Carling Cup 22/01/2008)
Arsenal and Tottenham are famous for the North London rivalry and whenever these two teams meet in any competition you can always expect fireworks. It was the Carling Cup semi-final, now known as the Carabao Cup and Spurs run riot from start to finish on their arch-rivals.
Jermaine Jenas opened the scoring for Spurs from a low shot and Lord Bendtner helped Tottenham score the second by scoring an own goal. Robbie Keane, Aaron Lenon and Malbranque each got one goal to give Tottenham a famous victory. Emmanuel Adebayor scored one goal which proved to be just a consolation goal.
It was mainly Arsenal who were mainly the dominant side in the North London and Spurs were always the second best. A defeat would have been acceptable, but a defeat in which they conceded five goals that too against their biggest rivals is just shameful.
Also, it was Arsenal first defeat to Spurs in nine years. The most painful thing for the fans is that Tottenham was always second fiddle to Arsenal in North London and despite that they managed to score five past them and Arsenal could just give one in reply.
