#2. Fabrizio Ravanelli, Middlesbrough v Liverpool (1996)
Fabrizio Ravenelli was the only scorer for Juventus in their victorious UEFA Champions League final against Ajax. His next competitive match was in the Premier League against Liverpool playing for Middlesbrough.
It was surprising that Ravenelli chose to play for Boro in 1996 but such was the growing glamour and reputation of the Premier League. It was also around this time that the famous 'Spice Boys' of Liverpool were born.
On the Italian's debut, Liverpool took the lead thrice and he equalised thrice. Everytime Ravanelli scored, the Boro fans went into delirium.
He scored 16 goals in the Premier League and 31 overall in a season where Boro were relegated. His performance, however, propelled the team to the finals of both the FA Cup and League Cup which they subsequently lost.
Despite being the highest paid player in the Premier League player at that time he was quite unhappy with the club and left the following season for Marseille.
