The former Stoke manager has played for a number of big clubs including the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona in his footballing career.

After retiring, he took up the managerial role managing clubs such as Manchester City, Fulham, Wales to name a few.

His one and only Premier League goal for Blackburn Rovers came against Leicester City in 2002 with the game ending 3-2 in favor of the Foxes.

Currently, an assistant manager to David Moyes at West Ham United, the former Englishman played as a defender for Manchester City, West Ham, Newcastle United to name a few clubs.

In 2016, he came out of retirement for 1 game to play for Longford in order to support the grassroots game.

His last Premier League goal came against Southampton in 2000, in which the Hammers ended up winning the game 3-2.
