Italy are missing a number of key players due to injury – including midfield maestro, Marco Verratti.

From a team with a stunning array of success at international tournaments, it’s safe to say not many people are expecting this Italian team to go too far. With injuries to crucial players, and the lack of quality Goal-scorers in attack heading into the tournament, they’re not really expected to beat a Belgium team brimming with talent.

How they perform in their opening match against a side many see progressing to the semi-finals at least, will tell us a lot about how they’ll perform in Euro 2016. If they pull a rabbit out of the hat to beat Belgium in their opening game, it certainly won’t be the first time they’ve surpassed expectations in a tournament of this magnitude and who knows how far they could go from there?
