#1 Neymar Jr.
The hottest transfer saga of the summer was undeniably the one involving th Brazilian which ended with his shock move to Paris.
The footballing world was left aghast as Neymar left the Camp Nou and joined PSG for a record transfer fee of over £200 million, considering he was now going to be lining-up against decidedly much-weaker opposition.
The standard of football in France is the lowest compared to the other 4 leagues in the top 5 of Europe. The level of competition is much lower as compared to either Spain or England.
Skeptics will say that the Brazilian has proved that his move to Paris was the correct one as he is now scoring goals for fun and has lit up numerous nights in Paris, but for a player billed as the greatest of his generation is it really enough?
A rude awakening at the hands of Real Madrid in the Champions League, as PSG crashed out once again, was only an indicator of still how much ground the champions of France have to cover compared to the other big boys in Europe.
How then is Neymar Jr. going to win the ballon d'Or without lifting the Champions League?
He won't. Therefore a move back to the top level must be a priority for the former Barcelona man with bitter rivals Real Madrid already laying the groundwork for Neymar's arrival.
