£17m for Barcelona's David Villa

El Mundo Deportivo report that despite the fact that Villa’s contract expires by the end of this season, Barcelona will not let him go to any party at a price less than £17m.

Arsenal was popularly linked with David Villa during the last transfer window. However, Barcelona refused to let the Spaniard leave.

The 32-year-old Villa, who broke his leg in December 2011, has bagged eight league starts this season, whilst struggling to get his first-team place back.

Now, all eyes remain on Gooners manager Arsene Wenger and his choice of bringing in Villa from Catalonia, despite the latest changes to the transfer policy.
