Neymar set the record for the fastest goal in Olympic history during Brazil's semifinal match against Honduras at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The youngster snatched the ball off a Honduras defender and found the back of the net in just 14 seconds.
Even though the Brazilian captain clashed with the goalkeeper Lopez after netting it home and was seen in agony soon after celebrating, he was okay soon after and went on to play the full 90 minutes of the game.
Brazil went on to win that game 6-0 and eventually the top honour after they defeated Germany on penalties in the gold medal match. In the match against Germany too, Neymar played a vital role and scored the solitary goal for Brazil in regulation time.
Before Neymar's goal against Honduras, the Guinness record for the fastest goal in Olympic history was held by Mexico’s Oribe Peralta. Ironically, Orico had scored that goal against Brazil in the previous edition, during the 2012 London games.
