#2 Mesut Ozil
Ozil is struggling for game time at Arsenal this season under new manager Unai Emery. We have seen the 30-year-old left out in crucial games against Tottenham and United this season, raising questions over whether Ozil will indeed make it under Emery.
On the other hand, Chelsea has been relying heavily on Eden Hazard’s creativity to win matches, something which is costing them dearly in games where the opponents sit deep in their own half.
Chelsea's struggles for goals this season have been attributed to lack of a creative player capable of pulling the strings for them when opponents defend in numbers.
Sarri-ball and Ozil would be a match made in heaven, and rightly so because of what Chelsea would achieve with the German creator in their ranks. The German international thrives under a possession-based style of play, and that’s why he played so well under Wenger.
Even though Kovacic is playing well at Chelsea, there are some areas the Croatian needs to improve. Kovacic has not yet scored a goal in a blue shirt, and hardly creates, therefore there is no doubt Ozil’s creativity and his eye for goal would see him start ahead of the Croatian in the starting eleven.
Final thoughts
Maurizio Sarri needs to look into the January transfer market keenly, if he is serious about finishing in the top four.
Chelsea’s troubles have been well attributed to a lack of goals, as witnessed in previous games against Tottenham, Wolves, and Leicester. However, adding players like Vardy and Mesut Ozil would definitely solve Chelsea’s goal scoring problems.
