Leo Messi played in a deeper role this season

Once again, Lionel Messi had a fantastic season for Barcelona and helped them win the title. Unlike the other seasons, Messi does not feature in the top of goal scoring charts as he has scored a total 26 goals and assisted 16 in 33 matches.

In spite of scoring less when compared to the previous seasons, the impact he had in Barcelona’s attack has been valuable and it helped Luis Suarez to win the Golen Boot and Pichichi award.

Messi was asked to play in a deeper role this season in which he flourished as he created a lot of chances and managed to score a handful of goals. He will be leading our front three, where he will be playing on the right.
