The FIFA Puskas Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the World, and it is given to the player who scores the most stunning goal of the year. The fans of the sport and a footballing committee are responsible for deciding the winner of the award from the shortlist FIFA has prepared.
The most recent winner of the award is James Rodriguez, who won the award for his spectacular volley at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Some of the other players who have previously won this award includes PSG’s star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
People who are interested in voting for their favourite goal can go to FIFA’s official web page or their YouTube page to enter their choice. The top three goals which receive the most votes before November 30th will be shortlisted for the final award. Even after the top three goal’s shortlist, votes can for the best goal can be registered after the 30th of November. The winner of the award will be revealed during the Ballon d’Or Ceremony held on 11 January, 2016.
This will be the seventh edition of the award which will be held in Kongresshaus in Zurich. The award is in memory of one of the most iconic footballers in the history of the sport, Ferenc Puskás. The Hungarian who went on to play with Real Madrid along with Alfredo di Stefano from 1958 to1966.
