Espanyol has clearly indicated Swansea City that they would have to shell out a lot more than £3.9m if they want the Ghana international in their side. The indication came when Espanyol president Jose Luis Morlanes stated “We have received an offer of £3.9m from a European club, but we will not sell for this amount.”
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is said to be impressed by Mubarak’s performance in his maiden season with the Spanish side. Laudrup, who has already recruited five players this year into the Welsh club, however is keen on luring Mubarak to England.
If Laudrup succeeds, then Mubarak will be the second player to join Swansea from Espanyol this year, after Jordi Amat.
