3 clubs Antonio Conte might manage in the future

Antonio Conte, one of the best coaches in the world, is unemployed at the moment. Conte had a good career as a player, having played for Juventus and Italian national team. However, he has been more successful as a coach and won 3 successive Serie A titles for Juve from 2011-12 to 2013-14.

He also managed to win the Premier League title for Chelsea in his inaugural season with them as a coach. Conte made Chelsea play in a 3-4-3 formation and struck a fine balance between attack and defence. Players like Victor Moses and N’Golo Kante became famous while playing under him at Chelsea.

However, he was sacked after Chelsea’s poor showing in the following season. They had still managed to win the FA Cup that season though. One might think that Conte was unfairly sacked and should have given one more opportunity.

We now take a look at the 3 clubs he might join as a coach in the future:

#1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid

It is quite obvious that a great coach like Conte would want to manage the biggest club in the world. Moreover, Madrid themselves are going through a rough phase this season and might actually finish trophyless. They have already sacked Julen Lopetegui midway through the season, and are not doing much better under Santiago Solari either.

They can do very well with an astute tactician and strict disciplinarian like Conte. Conte can actually help them rebuild as they are struggling to deal with the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo. Moreover, players like Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos are ageing too, and might not be able to play for Real for too long.

Real have some very talented young players like Isco, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vasquez in their side and Conte might be the man to guide those players to success. He has already done it at Juve and Chelsea and is a proven performer. Therefore, he could be very well seen managing Real in the next season.

#2 Arsenal

Arsenal

Conte has already managed London-based club Chelsea, so he shouldn't mind coaching Arsenal, yet another club in London. Arsenal replaced their veteran manger Arsene Wenger with Unai Emery at the beginning of the season, but have struggled to perform well consistently.

They have lost 5 of their 22 matches in the Premier League and are currently at the 5th position in the table. They might struggle to finish inside the top 4 and thereby ensure qualification for next season’s Champions League. Emery has looked short of ideas at times, and Arsenal supporters might not accept a finish outside the top 4.

Conte could the ideal man to be at the helm at Arsenal, because he has already done wonders with a relatively young team at Chelsea in the 2016-17 season. He should again be able to build a good team at Arsenal with players like Pierre-Emerick Aubemyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi. Therefore, one can not rule out his chances of being at the Emirates next season.

#3 AC Milan

AC Milan
AC Milan

If Conte wants to stay in his homeland, he could very well try to manage AC Milan. Milan are also going through a rebuilding phase under Gennaro Gattuso and finding it a bit difficult to stay inside the top 4 at Serie A. They have a solid defence with the likes of Romagnoli, Rodriguez, Calabria and Abate, and Conte usually enjoys working with a team having good defenders.

Moreover, Milan also have useful players like Bakayoko and Suso in their midfield and therefore, can pose some serious threat to their opponents if managed properly. Veteran striker Gonzalo Higuain has been linked to Chelsea of late, and might not stay at Milan for too long. Therefore, Conte would also get an opportunity to purchase some players and build a new and exciting side at the San Siro.

Milan might struggle to qualify for next season’s Champions League, as they are currently at the 5th position in the Serie A table. Should they fail to do so, they can think of Antonio Conte as their future manager.
