Jan Oblak started his career with Benfica in Portugal, but later moved to Atletico Madrid, which made him LaLiga's most expensive goalkeeper at that time. He has been on Manchester United's radar for quite some time, and was believed to be a potential replacement for David De Gea once the Spaniard leaves Old Trafford.

The Slovenian international is reportedly unhappy, as he is yet to receive his new contract offer from Atletico Madrid, with his current contract expiring in 2021.
The former Atleti goalkeeper, De Gea, has so far stayed put at United, but that could change with fresh interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
Even though Oblak is a world-class goalkeeper, his whooping release clause may turn out to be an issue. If he decides to leave and informs Atletico that he will not extend his contract, then United would have a chance to get him at a lower price.

Since childhood I was encouraged to play cricket and in no time it became a hobby. Gradually I found interest in other sports also.
Football is in my blood and I love the electrifying ambiance that surrounds it. I often watch the pre and post match analysis of a match and try to learn how to analyze a football game.
The thing that intrigues me the most is that there are so many things happening behind the scenes that are oblivious to our naked eyes. The technological advancements that has been made are phenomenal.
I like analyzing a game from a statistical point of view. Being a data guy myself , I am firm believer of providing insights through facts and data. Though a game is always unpredictable , analyzing it from different dimensions can provide some very interesting conclusions.
