A Golden Ball or Boot on an international level
It would be unfair to critique Ronaldo for not winning a World Cup in his career. But as one of the greatest, he should have a Golden Ball or Boot.
Ronaldo is the greatest footballer in Portugal's history. He has scored 85 goals, almost twice as much as the second best goalscorer Pauleta (47 goals), and is the most capped player with 154 games.
Unfortunately, Ronaldo underperformed in his first three World Cups, scoring only three goals in total. He did massively improve in 2018, scoring a hat trick against Spain but as Portugal was eliminated in the round of 16, Ronaldo wasn't considered for the Golden Ball. Because he didn't manager a single assist, he didn't win the Silver or Bronze boot.
The fantastic forward has been much better in European Championships. Even before the historic 2016 Euros, Ronaldo was included in the tournament's all-time XI.
He helped Portugal to win the tournament in 2016, scoring three goals and assisting on three more. That was the closest he was to a Golden Ball and Golden Boot but losing finalist Antoine Griezmann scooped both of them.
There aren't any rumours about Ronaldo retiring from international football so he should be playing in the European Championships in 2020, and eying another triumph.
