2. Erik ten Hag
Hailing from The Netherlands, Erik ten Hag is an extremely special manager whose technical brilliance helped his club overcome incredible odds in the previous edition of the Champions League.
Ten Hag helped a young Ajax outfit to infiltrate many European elites with swagger. A team that boasted the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Donny Van de Beek, Matthijs de Ligt, and more went on to knock out defending champions Real Madrid and a soaring Juventus. The Amsterdam side were on the brink of penning history but were defied in the dying embers of the second stage of UCL 2018-19 semi-final via an excellent Lucas Moura hat-trick.
The Dutch manager kickstarted his managerial career with Go Ahead Eagles. After a decent stint with Eagles, he was quickly snapped up by Bayern to lead Bayern Munich II, superseding Heiko Vogel. After a successful stint at Bayern, he went on to spearhead Utrecht.
Propelling Utrecht to a respectable fifth in the first season followed by an improved fourth in the ensuing one, ten Hag was sparking fanfare for all the right reasons.
After some spectacular performances from his side, big clubs came calling for the Dutchman. Ajax Amsterdam was his next destination where he has propelled the club to unparalleled heights. Despite crashing out of the Champions League this time after suffering a defeat at the hands of the Catalans, their blistering form in Eredivisie continues. With an Eredivisie and a KNVB Cup already to his name in just two and a half years, ten Hag makes a very strong case for the position of Bayern Munich's manager.
Ten Hag has a knack for trophies. Bayern has a hunger for them. You won't find better chemistry between the club and the manager. With illustrious players at his disposal, ten Hag can conjure up some magic even on the worst days for the Bavarian outfit. With his inclination towards technical brilliance, the Dutchman will look forward to what is the next step, given the current crop of players at Bayern.
With a win percentage of 74 at Ajax that showcases 76 victories and 293 goals scored under his watch, he would be an exciting choice.
With a crop that showboats promising youth and with a financial back up to defend these young players for at least five to six seasons, ten Hag can be the man for Bayern.
