#2 Victor Lindelof
Victor Lindelof had a forgettable start in his first full appearance for the Red Devils, against Huddersfield last season. But there's no doubt that the Swede has improved since then.
However, he hasn’t performed convincingly enough to be the first choice at the center back position. Often players take some time to adapt in the Premier League, and it might be possible that Lindelof is going through that phase.
He made 13 starts in the league last season, yet he failed to establish himself among the first choice center-backs. That said, his performance improved over time as he was quite good in his outings in the second half of the last season. Moreover, Mourinho preferred him in the Champions League.
Unlike his counterpart Eric Bailly, Lindelof is yet to justify his hefty price tag (€ 35m plus add-ons). The Swedish international is the costliest defender that United have ever bought.
Bailly cost a bit lesser than him. But the Ivorian was an instant fit in the squad when he arrived at Old Trafford from Villareal and quickly became one of the fan favorites.
Lindelof is yet to accomplish those tags. So it is now up to him to establish a breakthrough season as tries to prove his worth to the club.
