#3 Fernandinho

Fernandinho is an all round midfielder. His primary role has been to play the pivot for Manchester City. His ability to recover and distribute the ball is essential to City's domination of possession, a similar role Sergio Busquets used to have under Guardiola.
Fernandinho moves into areas where he can control the passing lanes. Moreover, he also shields the defensive line. Compared to both Silva and De Bruyne, Fernandinho completed more passes - 2,975, and created 7 big chances last season.
Due to his defensive duties, he scored 5 goals, and was the provider thrice in his 34 appearances. His role is to maintain order in the midfield, and this makes him pivotal to the success of Manchester City.
Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, and Sergio Aguero were the primes in Manchester City's 2017-18 campaign. However, the unsung heroes were David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Fernandinho. Credit goes to İlkay Gündoğan for his contributions as well.
