Every manager in football prefers two goalkeepers in the first team - one who plays the more hard-fought competitions and crunch encounters, and the other who replaces the former during cup games and hefty schedules.

But boy, Alisson Becker was simply unparalleled in goal, so formidable that Belgian shot-stopper Simon Mignolet was reduced to a meager two appearances in all competitions last season. In fact, the former Sunderland goalie did not don the Liverpool shirt even once in the Premier League.

Recent reports from various publications have mentioned that Jurgen Klopp is determined to retain the services of his back-up goalkeeper, but the club should probably look to let him go, given the number of opportunities he has received since the arrival of Alisson.
