#2 Saul Niguez
United have used a number of footballers in various combinations in their midfield, but are still having plenty of problems there. Nemanja Matic is too slow at times, and a poor passer. Ander Herrera has been too passive and inconsistent, whereas Paul Pogba has drawn more attention because of his off-field shenanigans than on-field exploits.
Niguez, the central midfielder of Spain and Atletico Madrid, could very well find a place in United’s troubled midfield.
Niguez can also play box-to-box, and has a knack for scoring goals. He usually hovers around the opposition penalty box at times to take those crucial shots at goal. He also falls back frequently to negate the attacking threats posed by the opposition team.
Niguez has scored 29 goals from 206 matches for Atletico, and is a regular starter for Spain now. He could very well provide the solidity and positivity United’s midfield so badly needs.
