Former Chelsea and current Arsenal stopper Petr Cech has announced that he would retire from the game at the end of this season. After a career which was two decades long, Petr Cech's departure will open up a vacancy at Arsenal for a position in between the sticks.

Bernd Leno is a goalkeeping option already available at Arsenal and the London club would need a worthy replacement for Petr Cech. Cech has not been in the best of form off late and Leno has failed to make an impact so far. Arsenal has already started scouting for a stopper and Cech's departure could make a goalkeeper signing a priority at the end of the season.

David Ospina is on loan at Napoli and Arsenal may also be willing to bring back the Colombian No.1. However, Napoli is also interested in signing Ospina on a permanent basis.

Arsenal has not been able to attract quality players with the club and with a Champions League spot difficult yet again for the upcoming season, it would be interesting to see who can fill the boots of Petr Cech.

On that note, here are three players who could become an Arsenal goalkeeper by the start of next season.

#3 Jack Butland

Going with Arsenal's current transfer policy, they are unlikely to spend huge money on Petr Cech's replacement and Jack Butland would be a good option for the Gunners.

The 25-year-old England stopper has remained at Stoke City despite the club getting relegated to the Championship and he could be on the lookout for a move to Premier Lague.

Butland has also played for England and he would also improve Arsenal's home-grown quota if he joins the club. Considering Bernd Leno's inconsistent performances, Butland can be a regular starter and can also fulfil his dream of a move to a big club.

#2 Jan Oblak

Liverpool invested a lot of money in Alisson Becker at the start of the season and they are reaping the rewards right now. Alisson has been the best goalkeeper in England this season and may end with a few trophies.

Oblak has been in the transfer news regarding almost every top club as the Slovenian is one of the best goalkeepers playing right now. He has been fantastic in La Liga with Athletico Madrid and has all the qualities to become the best man between the sticks in the future.

He might move away from the Spanish capital and a lot of other teams like PSG and Juventus are monitoring him. Arsenal may not attract Oblak but the London club should make an effort to sign the Slovenian.

Arsenal has had problems with their No.1 recently and if they can divert some funds towards Oblak, a lot of issues could be resolved at the club. Jan Oblak will be the ultimate goalkeeping target for Arsenal in the upcoming transfer windows.

#1 Keylor Navas

Despite being one of the best goalkeepers in the past few seasons, Keylor Navas lost his place in the Real Madrid starting XI to Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Courtois was the Golden Glove winner in the FIFA World Cup and completed a record move to Chelsea earlier this season.

Despite leaking a lot of goals, Courtois is still holding on to a place in the team which has prompted Keylor Navas to look for his next destination. Arsenal is linked with Navas and could make a move for him this month.

Navas is a wonderful stopper and has won the Champions League thrice in the last three seasons. He would be available for a cheaper price and Arsenal should look to make him as a priority before next season. The 32-year-old is experienced and will be a perfect replacement for Petr Cech.
