Manchester United have been flying high since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as the interim manager. Under Jose Mourinho, United struggled to score goals and win games this season. Ever since Solskjaer's arrival, Manchester United have not only scored plenty of goals but have also won seven consecutive games.
Majority of the players were underperforming under Jose Mourinho and hence were dropped from the starting XI, including the likes of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera.
Under the new manager, the club has miraculously revived in the past few games and are unbeaten so far. The top-four finish is looking more and more likely after each match. The revival has been a result of several key players who are back to their best under Solskjaer.
On that note, here we take a look at the three players who have been the key to Manchester United's revival under Solskjaer.
#1 Marcus Rashford
After the dip in form of Manchester United's No.9, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford got his chance under Jose Mourinho and continued to impress with his high work rate and output.
The striker has continued his form under the new manager and has sealed his spot as the number one striker. His finishing has drastically improved as he scored five goals under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in six Premier League starts, which included the winner against Spurs at Wembley.
Solskjaer's style of football has allowed Marcus Rashford to express himself in the final third. His shots per match have drastically improved under the new manager. Rashford now has 27 shots in his last six Premier League games, which is a lot more than what he accumulated for the first half of the season under Mourinho.
#2 Paul Pogba
Everyone knew the potential Paul Pogba possesses but it was the consistency that let him down under Jose Mourinho. Ever since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Paul Pogba has been directly involved in nine United goals in six league games.
It was his sublime pass in the game against Spurs which led to Marcus Rashford's winner. Paul Pogba has scored five goals and assisted 4 more since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. To his liking, he spent a lot of time in the final third and played a lot more freely.
#3 Ander Herrera
Ander Herrera is one of the most underrated players at Old Trafford. However, the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has renovated his United career. Ander Herrera started five of the six league games under Solskjaer and has cemented his place in the team at the moment.
The Spaniard has scored a goal and assisted two already under the new manager in just five games compared to one goal and one assist in all games before the arrival of Solskjaer. His work rate deserves a special mention here.
