#1 David Wagner
Wagner's role as the club's manager is certainly unsafe right from the opening matchday. At the Kirklees Stadium, the Terriers were humbled in a 0-3 defeat by the hands of Chelsea. Soon after, the team was humiliated by Manchester City in a 6-1 thrashing. Fans would have thought that his time as the manager is coming to an end, but Wagner has hung on till date.
In the second round of the football league cup, Huddersfield suffered a 2-0 loss at the Bet365 stadium. During that game, they faced Stoke City which had been relegated the previous season. The loss surely placed greater pressure on him as more eyes are now looking at whether he is capable of stabilising the club's performance and bringing them to greater heights.
The German-American manager has said that surviving in the league would be like a trophy. Admittedly, there will not be a game where clubs will find it easy to overcome their opponents without having to sweat. The race to become the first manager of the season to be sacked in the Premier League is still on. In May, Wagner committed his future to the club by penning a new three-year extension deal. However, that has now seemed to be a wrong move if Wagner is unable to cope with the demands of managing a club in EPL.
