Has any player’s form dropped as badly as Luka Modrić's since the World Cup in Russia? I don't think so. The Croatian international looks unrecognizable at the moment.

This summer, the player led his national team to the finals at the World Cup in Russia. However, they were defeated in the final match against France but Luka Modrić was declared as the best player of that tournament. At that point, Luka Modrić was probably the first contender for 2018 Balon d'Or award.

It's really hard to understand what is happening with Luka. His partnership with Toni Kroos in the middle of the park isn't as good as it has been in the past few years. Simply, Luka Modrić can't establish dominance on the field and this is surely one of the reasons why Real Madrid are struggling at the moment.
