At the start of last season things were going well for Martial and Marcus Rashford they were both playing good football and Mourinho was utilizing both very well. But the arrival of Alexis Sanchez has in essence stunted the development of Martial but also Marcus Rashford.

Anthony Martial was in the form of his life back in January, but Sanchez pushed the Frenchman down the pecking order in Mourinho's book. Poor form due to lack of game time and match sharpness ultimately made him end his season poorly.
A season that started so greatly and continued till the arrival of Sanchez but then ended horrifically for the Frenchman, who failed to make the French World Cup winning squad.
On that left-wing Martial is definitely third after fellow team-mates Sanchez and Rashford.
