#1 Defeating Real Madrid
Before Barcelona came in, it was clear that their eternal rivals Real Madrid were leading the race to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
Following the departure of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the Santiago Bernabeu in a famous £88 million deal to join Juventus in the Serie A, Los Blancos eyed a lot of superstars to potentially replace the Portuguese, and the Chelsea playmaker was reportedly on top of their wish list.
A few days later, reports emerged that Barcelona have also joined the race to lure the attacker from Stamford Bridge this summer. In fact, there were a lot of rumors suggesting that Barca is willing to offer Ousmane Dembele plus €100 million in order to pip their fierce rivals to the signature of the Belgian International.
With the transfer becoming a tug of war between the two clubs, it would be great for Barcelona to beat their rivals to the signing of the Chelsea superstar. By doing that, they would deal a huge blow to Real Madrid and defeat their counterparts in the transfer market once again.
Otherwise, they could end up playing against a ruthless Hazard in the El Clasico if he ends up switching to the Spanish capital.
