Daniel Sturridge missed an open goal in the early stages of the second half and also struck the post once. Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri also got some clear openings of the goal, however, they failed to make the most out of them.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were brought on by Jurgen Klopp in the second half to provide the finishing touches to their attacks but it was already too late when they came in.
