#1 Failure to keep hold of their best players
Liverpool used to be one of the most attractive destinations for players around the globe and the world-class footballers dreamed of playing for the Reds during the 20th century.
However, Liverpool's failure to win trophies in the recent times changed the scenario and big-name players no longer want to move to the red half of the Merseyside. Moreover, they became a selling club and found it difficult to keep hold of their best players when they received offers from clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona or even Manchester City.
Luis Suarez nearly won the Premier League title for Reds in 2013-2014 but he left for Barcelona the following season. Phillipe Coutinho also followed the same route while Raheem Sterling joined Manchester City in 2015.
