#3 Post World Cup break
Last season Manchester City and Manchester United finished 1st and 2nd respectively. Perhaps more significantly though, they maintained these positions for pretty much the entire season.
Both the Manchester clubs had very good starts to the season, and were 6-7 points ahead of the 3rd place after just 10 games.
That may not be the case this time as due to the World Cup, a lot of players have taken extra time off and thus will not be available during the first few games of the season. We can already see that with Manchester City being without some of their key payers such as Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Sergio Aguero.
Even Jose Mourinho has publicly expressed his displeasure over the fact that most of his first team is unavailable and that he is forced to play youth players over experienced ones.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have most of their key players back with only the likes of Trent Alexander Arnold and Dejan Lovren still to come back. But with Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez impressing the manager in the pre-season, those positions are well covered.
If Liverpool get off to a terrific start and maintain that momentum, then they can surely clinch their first title in almost 30 years.
