#2 Lukaku's lack of form
Any top club in the world needs a quality centre-forward who will bang in goals and win games after games for their club. At the time when Jose was signed, United didn't have that world class striker which the manager took into regard and immediately signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic who turned out to be a success in his very first season in the Premier League.
But a career-threatening injury to Zlatan in the later stages of the season saw the Portuguese buy Romelu Lukaku in the following season. The Belgian International made an immediate impact and performed relatively well in his first season with the Red Devils, and there were expectations that he would repeat the same form this season as well.
But Romelu has looked anything but his shadow so far for United this campaign. He is short on confidence and failing to convert easy chances. Even the physical side of his game is missing this season with people calling for him to be rested for a few games.
However, the lack of options on the bench has prompted Jose to play the Belgian continuously which has further hindered his chances to get back the form he showed last time out. Without a firing centre-forward, it's very likely that a team which is set up to play on the counter would suffer to score.
