#2 Versatile winger
Solskjaer has often refused to position any offensive-type player on the flank recently due to the unreliability of United's wingers. He had rotated heavily between Mata, Lingard, Martial, and Sanchez in the past without finding any promising sign.
The Norwegian even positioned Martial as a striker alongside Marcus Rashford in recent matches. Neres is a versatile winger who can play on both flanks equally well, although he has mostly played on the right.
He has been directly involved in a significant number of goals when deployed on either flank. Hence, he will ease United's burden a lot when it comes to the wing. Erik ten Hag has even played him as an offensive and central midfielder in a handful of occasions, with positive results.
#3 Bargain and long-term investment
The Brazilian is undoubtedly Ajax's most promising wunderkinder alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. Transfermarkt values Neres at £28.8 million, and he would likely cost the Red Devils between £30-45 million.
The Sao Paulo product is a more proven winger compared to other Eredivisie top stars such as Steven Bergwijn, due to his extensive playing experience in the Champions League this season. He has also been a lethal threat to Europe's biggest teams such as Juventus and Real Madrid. Hence his price would still serve as a bargain for United.
He is just 22 years old and has a lot of room for improvement. His tremendous pace and youthful energy would help United rejuvenate its right flank.
