With Mariano in the fold, manager Julen Lopetegui has not only found a goalscorer but he can afford to make a few tactical changes if he likes to. While they look more than settled in a traditional 4-3-3 system at the moment, they could switch back to a solid 4-4-2 if situation demands.

Gareth Bale could drop down to right of midfield, while Mariano could pair with Benzema up front to demonstrate more aggression.

Bale is in supreme form at the moment, scoring 9 goals in his last 9 outings so far but his fitness issues are well documented.
