Little is known of the young Brazilian who commanded a fee of $38 million, and Florentino Perez had to fight with every club on the planet to secure his services. His arrival and the timely departure of Ronaldo paves the way for him to be slotted right into the role of Ronaldo.

Although that theory is a long shot, it has all the more promise to be a reality in the coming seasons. Vinicius Jr. scored 11 goals in 30 games for Flamengo last season and has shown a lot of promise ahead of his move to the Bernabeu.

Perez has been longing to find a young attacker for so many seasons to replace Ronaldo as he feared for the moment he would eventually leave. He brought in Odegaard which was an epic failure as the teenager is now not playing for any big club at the moment.

Perez also tried a number of youngsters from the academy, but none succeeded. There is a firm belief in Vinicius among the Madrid hierarchy, he is the one to lead the Madrid attack in the coming years.
