#3 Lack of squad depth
You take a look at Tottenham's bench in the match against United, they only had two notable names on the bench - Fernando Llorente, and Serge Aurier, (with due respect to the others on the bench yesterday).
For a team that hopes to compete on all four fronts, both in England and in Europe, you feel that it is not enough depth to be able to mount a serious title challenge, especially when the UEFA Champions League resumes.
Although the new stadium being built by the club has restricted them to a a strict budget However, one cannot but feel that this could be a major handicap for Spurs when the going gets tough.
Tottenham has to win a trophy this season. The team has too much potential to remain trophyless for so long. Until they start claiming trophies again, they cannot be counted as a team with pedigree like Man Utd, Liverpool, or Arsenal.
