The summer transfer window is only three months away and Transfer Rumour Mill has already started with odds being placed on the likeliest of transfers. Some transfers have already been agreed: like Pulisic from Dortmund to Chelsea, DeJong from Ajax to Barcelona and Ramsay from Arsenal to Juventus to name a few.
Every transfer window brings some spicy transfer sagas and the same will be expected from the next one, especially considering the fact that two of the biggest clubs in Europe, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are looking to revamp their squads.
Bayern President already mentioned his clubs intention to spend this summer to revamp their aging squad, the same is expected from Real Madrid after their disastrous season so far. Whether these clubs sign big players or not, some superstars are well likely to leave their clubs and below, we take a look at 3 of them:
#3. Mauro Icardi
Mauro Icardi was the captain of Inter Milan and he was performing well for them on the field until everything turned upside down in the month of February.
First, he was stripped of his captaincy after he made himself unavailable for the Europa League game against Rapid Vienna, then amid concerns over his contract situation, his relationship with fans also hit a low. Later Icardi posted a social media post bashing the Inter Milan board for their lack of respect towards him. Now new reports confirm that Icardi has refused to train with the club.
It all points to one direction - out of San Siro. The Argentine is believed to have a relatively modest £95m release clause for someone of his talent. Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United are all rumored to be interested in him and certainly, his chances of staying at Inter come the summer looks very bleak.
#2. Timo Werner
Bundesliga attacker, Timo Werner's contract runs down in the summer of 2020 and there is no sign that suggests the German International would sign a new one yet. RedBull Leipzig's President has already publicly spoken about how important it is to a team like Leipzig to not lose their stars for free, he even admitted if no deal is agreed with the star striker they have to sell him within next two transfer windows.
Timo Werner is a regular member of the German International setup and has some high profile suitors. Liverpool and Bayern Munich have both been chasing the striker since last summer while the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea have also been monitoring his situation closely.
It will be difficult to see Werner staying at RB Leipzig come next season and he is believed to be available around £45m with just twelve months remaining on his contract.
#1. Gareth Bale
The Welsh wizard, one time most expensive player in the world is having a troublesome campaign at Real Madrid this season. Bale is believed to be one of President Perez's favorites, but even Perez has lost his patience with the Welsh International according to reports in Spanish media, following his string of poor performances recently.
He has been occasionally booed by his own home crowd at Santiago Bernabeu and lost his place in the starting lineup to young Vinicius Jr. Bale has been linked in the past with various clubs but this time he looks certain to be heading out of the Spanish capital.
The attacker's agent recently bashed Madrid fans for targeting his client and asked for more respect for their number 11. Manchester United has been highly linked with the superstar in the past few seasons and are still rumored to be interested in him. A return to Tottenham is also believed to be a possibility while AC Milan and Inter Milan are also highly interested in his signature.
