#3 United should play quick transition football
This season, Manchester United has been slow in the transition from defence to attack. The passing has been very ponderous at times. To get a positive result against Liverpool, United must be quicker in the transition from defence to attack.
The pace of Manchester United's attackers like Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku must be exploited with quick balls from the midfield and defence.
As earlier said, Liverpool will play a backline that has not played together regularly or even at all this season. The quick balls into the channels and to the feet of United's pacy attack will test the fitness, reading of the game and communication of the Liverpool defence.
Slow and ponderous football is very unlikely to open up a Liverpool defence that has conceded only six goals and kept 10 clean sheets this season.
The Red Devils must also be very clinical in their finishing to help them get a positive result at Anfield.
Jose Mourinho tends to play the stifling game on his Anfield visits as seen in his 0:0 draws at Anfield in the last two seasons. A draw or loss to Liverpool may not be the end of the world but it doesn't help the Red Devils at this moment in time. United should be brave and ambitious in this encounter.
However, knowing Jose Mourinho you never can tell what ace he has up his sleeve.
