#3 Midfield must provide more protection for players in defence

N'Golo Kante and Jorginho are irreplaceable in midfield

As said earlier, Jorginho is the base of everything that happens in Sarriball. The Italian international came this summer to Chelsea. The other two players that play in Chelsea's midfield are N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovačić or Ross Barkley.

This role is a new chapter in Kante's career because he has mostly played as the protector in front of defence. Now he plays very high up the pitch, and because of that he has less defensive duties.

Jorginho is the man that plays in front of defence now, but he in't so committed to his defensive duties. Because of that, Chelsea's defenders are often left alone when the opposition team goes into counter-attack.

Midfield players stay very high, and that leaves huge gaps in Chelsea's structure. If they want to win the Premier League title this season, midfield players must provide more protection for the defence.
